Invisible Technologies

Choosing Your First Generative AI Use Cases
To get started with generative AI, first focus on areas that can improve human experiences with information.
Invisible Technologies raises $100 million for its AI platform that helps enterprises organize data and build agentic workflows.
San Francisco-based startup Invisible Technologies has announced a new funding round of $100 million.
The company, which provides an AI software platform and focuses on AI training data, has now raised a total of $144 million.
According to one report, the company is now valued at $2 billion, underscoring why it was named second-fastest growing AI company in the 2024 Inc. 5000, where it was praised for "transforming how companies are built and run, merging AI and automation."
The funding round was led by Vanara Capital, a new firm spun out from TPG last month, with other participants including Princeville Capital, HOF Capital, Acrew Capital, Greycroft and Deepwater Asset Management.
"Despite the recent excitement, most enterprises are still struggling to get AI models into production and to quantify ROI. Invisible changes that," Invisible CEO Matthew Fitzpatrick stated in a press release. "Our software platform, combined with our expert marketplace, enables companies to organize, clean, label, and map their data. This foundation enables them to build agentic workflows that drive real impact."
The platform is made up of five modular components -- Neuron, Atomic, Synapse, Axon and Expert Marketplace -- that perform different roles, providing structure for messy data, building digital workflows, measuring impact, deploying agentic solutions and providing human feedback.
Of the five, Expert Marketplace is a differentiator, delivering what the company claims is high-quality human expertise and reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF).
Customers working on large language models will get access to human experts in a specific field who can provide custom training data and annotations for their AI. RLHF, meanwhile, is used once the AI has been trained, with human experts rating responses, allowing additional development.
The new investment will be used to develop its AI software platform further and build on the $134 million revenue generated in 2024, as well as attract more high-profile customers to complement existing ones that include AWS, Microsoft and Cohere.
